Take Home Folder
Your child will bring home a folder on Fridays with class work, school announcements, etc. Please go through these folders every Friday with your child. Once you have gone through the folder and emptied it, please return it with your child the next day. Thank you for your cooperation.
Homework
We will put a monthly calendar of homework choices in your child's folder for you to choose one weekly and initial in the box. In addition, nightly reading at home is greatly encouraged.
Grading Policy
Your child will be graded on formal/informal teacher observations. The students are observed while in centers, small groups with the teacher, whole class activities, in the lunchroom, hall and on the playground (personal development grades).
Classroom Volunteers
We love having classroom volunteers and there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone throughout the year. We have several field trips and rely on field trip chaperones to assist on each trip, as well as, guest readers, guest presenters, class party planners and play date planners. There are also many schoolwide events that rely on parent volunteers as well. We’ll coordinate volunteers ahead of time on SignUp.com and make sure everyone who wants to volunteer will have a chance. We greatly appreciate the support!
